The painting shows the Nabeela who works on applying henna for women’s as a profession which is also an exhausting job requiring 2 hours min. for each woman and up to 5 hours for a bride or newly married woman.

At the newly married woman house in Um Durman during the late 60s sits Nabeela Al Hanana “الحنانة” applying henna sitting on a Banbar while her customer sits on a Angareab bed “عنقريب” covered with the typical popular cotton bed sheets at the time.

At the middle steel table is a tray containing a water bowel, coffee , Mubkhar and a plate of fresh Legaimat sweet pastry.

Near them is a grinding wooden container with it think handle and at the other side below the shade hands a Mashtaleeb “مشلعيب” below it a Mandola pot made of breaded colored dry palm leaves inside it a wooden plate with Asida & Mulah food "عصيدة و ملاح" cooked for their breakfast.
